RAM mount is not included. C size with 1.5" ball at minimum is recommended for stability and holding power. The main pole mount piece is designed specifically to fit the hole pattern of the C size round base mount (RAM-202U). It's 4-Hole AMPS pattern: 1.181" x 1.496" or 30mm x 38mm. There are many knockoff versions on Amazon as well. Be sure to match the hole pattern. D size ball will provide more holding power. The base needs to be AMPS pattern. D size model is RAM-D-254U
